I should incorporate Indian Education in my physical education class because I dont think a lot of students realize how many games and activities we have adopted from Indian Culture, and living in montana with such a high Indian population it is important to have knowledge of their culture.
Hey COUSIN, :) love your page! I think it is important to incorporate Indian Education in classrooms because as Tana said we have adopted many things from the Native culture. Also Native Americans are a very interesting group of people with an amazing story, before it was a law to incorporate Indian Education I believe many Americans had a very distorted very of the Native Community.
From the artist perspective, instruction should include a Native American perspective due to semiotics (the study of signs). An artist must consider not only their intended meaning but also all possibilities of interpretation, which would include a Native American understanding of sign and signifier.
I feel it is extremely important to include education about the Native American population. Information about all cultures should be taught but especially Native American culture because we live in Montana.
I actually grew up on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. Unfortunately, I have seen some of the hostility between difference races. However, I think that incorporating Montana's Native American Cultures could give non-Native Americans a better insight to their lives and background. It could create better understanding between groups and a healthy respect for each other. I would incorporate Montanan Native American music into my general music and music history class. I also may use it when teaching multi-cultural drums to my percussion kids.
I feel that including Native American studies in the curriculum is vitally important. I feel that exploring and understanding the Native American culture leads to a better understanding of all cultures. I think that exploring cultures helps our students become better citizens.
I feel NAS most definately should be incorperated into my class. The enhancement diversity brings to one's point of view is so valuable, not to mention it is part of the culture in which we live, and deeply rooted in this countrie's identity.
